In a series of works entitled "Meditations" I use plates of hard porcelain, as a rule in simple shapes reminding a lens. The concave shape of this lens often becomes part of the composition of the elements that I place on the surface. I make them from porcelain like the Parian, including the thin straws that support these elements (firing at 1250 Cº). I assemble pre-fired elements on the plate temporarily to determine the configuration of the overglaze background there. Most often I use a black glaze firing it at 950 Cº) and a platinum luster (800 Cº), its mirror surface adds optical effects and creates feeling of extra depth. At the last stage of the work porcelain elements are fixed on the surface with the help of ultraviolet light.
