Builder #1

China has developed extremely quickly in recent years, as evidenced by the many tall buildings seen rising into the skyline daily. However, some of these skyscrapers were seemingly abandoned halfway, due to either political or environmental reasons and were left unfinished. This kind of waste of social resources can be seen in small cities and countless towns. Building scaffolding has increasingly become a new form of "urban landscape," like a series of ruined sculptures, urging people to reflect about "China speed" and the pursuit of success. On the road to pursuing success, many environmental and humanistic considerations have been lost, and many things now need to be slowed down and slowly realized.
This work uses the combined design of ceramics and stainless steel and uses scaffolding as the main component to eliminate the practicality of this industrial construction equipment, thereby conveying the core aesthetic value of life requiring more art and appreciation. The scaffolding is replaced in the work by fragile, beautiful white ceramic, to express the things that get lost in the pursuit of a quality lifestyle.
