The Artwork is inspired by mortise and tenon which are from Chinese wooden building and is an attempt to reinterpret the tradition. The whole artwork is made of regular cuboids and cut into different spaces with
different moods. The contrast between light and shadow looks like a story to be told. There are uncertain factors in the stable artwork. People may have different senses of center of gravity from different perspectives, causing instability of spaces. The reason why I choose white is because it is a pure color that can better show changes in light and shadow and due to my understanding of space. Repair of golden joinery is another attempt to present the artwork. Break does not mean imperfection.
