This edition of the ICAA began its call for entries on 1 October 2018, with 10 May 2019 set as the deadline for registration. A total of 569 ceramic artists from 40 different countries and regions were in the running for the award, with the number of collected entries totaling a whopping 785 ceramic artworks. After the voting by the experts in the ICAA’s Review Committee, ten laureates hailing from six different countries made it to the final selection.

The superb, short-listed artworks were exhibited at 798 ArtDist in Beijing from 23 June to 21 July 2019; the prize-winning artworks were exhibited in Musée Masséna, Nice, France. The final ranking results – one winner of the First Prize, two winners of the Second Prize, two winners of the Third Prize and five winners of the Excellence Prize - were announced during the award ceremony held at the Nice Opera House on 8 October 2019.
