A-Mare (to Floating Beauty)
In my practice space is conceived as a plastic volume—imaginary but, above all, psychosomatic. The relationships between the viewer, the artwork, and the architecture become the cornerstone of my artistic process: on one hand, the physical space inevitably affects the sensory perception of the visitor; on the other, the artistic intervention brings about profound and decisive changes in the objective perception of the external world. The title of the work: "A-Mare", plays on the Italian words ‘amare’ (to love) and ‘mare’ (sea), weaving together the intimacy of love and the boundless mystery of the ocean. The title reflects a delicate balance between intimacy and infinity, suggesting a journey through feelings as deep and mysterious as the sea itself. The piece emerges from recent personal reflections on love and relationships — experiences that have stirred deep emotional currents and continue to echo through my practice. Like two waves with opposing flows and forces that, despite their contrasts, find unity in defining a shared horizon, this tension between opposing currents become the emotional core of the piece. The installation is composed of two elements that embrace and adapt to the surrounding architecture, much like these waves interact and converge in a fluid dance. Made from white and blue porcelain — the work introduces the translucent presence of resin, which binds and interacts with porcelain, creating a living, organic dialogue between past and present, fragility and resilience, like sea foam catching the sun’s fleeting glow. Through this synthesis, the installation reinterprets the heritage of blue-and-white porcelain, giving it new life in a contemporary form that explores both materiality and meaning. It invites viewers to contemplate the fragile balance between opposition and unity, passion and calm, heritage and innovation — where love and the sea meet in a dance both intimate and infinite.
