Silent Cloud

Clouds on the horizon, withered rocks in the valley, and dried, curling reeds by the pond—these diverse natural scenes conceal the ceaseless flow of time, both past and present. In the eyes of the wise, they are traces of life, the turning seasons, embodying the power and rhythm of nature, where life's resilience and tender beauty lie hidden. How to profoundly convey life's dual essence—both tender and resilient—is the very subject I am exploring. Choosing kaolin clay as the medium adds layers of difficulty and meaning to this pursuit. It embodies both hardness and brittleness, much like life itself—standing firm against the wind, yet revealing its fragility in unexpected moments. Sharp lines on the surface of the work record the artist’s movements and moments of reflection during creation, while the pure white hue intensifies the tension of this motion. Sharpness and softness, undulations and fluctuations, spontaneity and chance coexist. Viewers can simultaneously sense the delicate interplay between restrained rationality and liberated sensibility within the piece.
