Here was water

The water has left this place, leaving only a shell, a cast of a past life, dissolved into the air, drop by drop. In essence porcelain is clay from which everything has been burnt out, it has no moisture, no organics, it is almost glass, it cannot absorb anything. The whole process of ceramic production is a process of getting rid of water. Just as moisture leaves the earth, just as coral loses its color, so life leaves the body, leaving only a fragile echo of the recent past. There is a kind of solemn and impassioned beauty to it.
