《Prologue》
Sew semi transparent Dehua white porcelain tiles onto translucent silk using embroidery. Using the softness of fabric to neutralize the hardness of ceramics, while giving the work freedom of plasticity, it can be shaped according to different environments to adapt to the scene. The outside is an imaginary water flow composed of three-dimensional ceramic tiles, and the inside is projected with a waterfall image. In terms of concept, the work combines Plato's cave theory with the imagery of waterfalls to construct a metaphorical reflection on perspective shift. If you are inside a waterfall, the artificial waterfall projected by digital information will obscure your vision. Like cave prisoners who can only see the projection illuminated by the flames. The water flow becomes the "wall of the cave", trapping people in sensory limitations, and the physical isolation of the water curtain becomes a symbol of cognitive isolation. If you are outside the waterfall, your vision suddenly becomes clear, which corresponds to the external real world seen by the "enlightener" in the cave fable, facing the essence of things directly.
