The work oscillates at the interface of human and certain places. In the face of a human, a FFP2 mask means protection of a fragile system — the human being. When the mask leaves the hand and falls down to the ground it draws attention to another fragile system — our planet Earth.
The artist’s work shows how close protection and destruction are and gives hope that we will face the climate crisis with the same energy and the same cohesion as we do in the COVID-19 pandemic.
The installation contains 30 porcelain FFP2 masks in different shapes which are installed on the floor.
