But Fly
The work "But Fly" was created in March 2019. The creation objects are insects and depression, and the focus is on quantitative change process in transformation and suffering of the butterfly. As kaolin was selected as the raw material, the firing temperature ranged from 1250 to 1300 Celsius degree depending on the works, and the firing atmosphere varied, too. As a wall-mounted piece, the whole work is composed of 130 small pieces, with an average of 15cm for each small piece and 2.4m*2.4m for the whole. The work uses porcelain clay as raw material, which is adjusted by the decorations of glazes, hollows, styling and engraving, making the work transit from pure white to gorgeous colored, and from plain to exaggerated. Since a large number of white bodies without glaze are used and white and matt glaze is used for decoration, the lights are used to
distinguish them, creating changes in white, and coordinating the work.
In a word, the work focuses on the use of white porcelain as the material, and a ceramic public art work of ceramic device is produced through the order arrangement, lighting effect, sculptural means, and glaze decoration.
