Cloud Mountain
In my work I try to capture the natural perspective of things honouring the nature of earth in its simplest expressions.
The sea foam, the porous rocks grazed by wind and exposing their iron inclusions, the sharp shadows of architecture, the smell of wet earth; these are the elements that I want to transfer to my work, using a direct approach freed of any virtuosity that might not respect the essence of the material.
The harmony of my art works comes through a process of subtraction, the looking for compositional balance, by operating on discreet volumes and juxtaposition of lines, by leaving coarse wrinkled surfaces and free corrosions. Just like my own vision of life, far away from extemporaneous gestures but sensitive in capturing the authentic essence of things.
